How To Help

It takes a village. Ours is Anacortes.

Anacortes Old Friends Club opens in January 2027, and our neighbors are making it possible. Whether you give a gift, an afternoon or a box of art supplies, you’re giving two people a better day: a Member who spends it with friends, and a care partner who finally gets to rest.

Give a gift

Your donation helps us open our doors, staff each day with trained and caring people, and keep AOFC affordable for every family, including those who need a scholarship.

Volunteer with us

Volunteers are the heart of every Old Friends Club. No experience is needed, just patience, warmth and a sense of humor. All volunteers receive training and a background check.

  • Care Team volunteer. Spend one day a week at the Club: join activities, help serve lunch, and make friends. We ask for a six-month commitment, and half days are welcome too.
  • Afternoon guest. Share a talent once or twice a month. Play music, lead a dance, teach a craft, bring a therapy animal, or show off your garden know-how.
  • Student and school groups. Teachers and school leaders: bring 5 to 10 students for a weekly visit on a rotating schedule.
  • Behind the scenes. Help with photos, social media, design, events, fundraising or paperwork.

Donate supplies

We’re stocking our Club and would love these items, new or gently used:

  • Art supplies: markers, watercolors and brushes, art paper, air-dry clay, washable glue, old magazines
  • Games: bingo, cornhole, bowling sets, ring toss, large-piece puzzles (about 40 pieces), trivia and “Shake Loose a Memory” cards
  • Music: small instruments, a Bluetooth speaker, songbooks
  • Garden and wood shop: child-size and easy-grip garden tools, seeds, pots, sandpaper, simple woodcraft kits
  • Kitchen: washable plates and cups that contrast with the table, serving utensils, a slow cooker
  • Comfort: hand lotion, weighted lap blankets, soft companion animals

Please send any supplies to 1805 11th St Anacortes, WA 98221 or arrange pick-up in person by emailing foundation@pnwhomeforlife.com
